LSA Financial Support
The leadership of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod has been supported by its synodical membership in its desire to create new schools. These schools are proposed to be created as a ministry arm of existing or mission-status congregations. The scope of the Lutheran Schools of America project is to create a funding support partnership between LSA and the local congregation. This partnership will ensure school-start success when LSA and the local congregation share in generating the required support levels. The amounts of required support and lengths of the funding period will vary from site to site and will be determined accordingly. A scenario may exist in which LSA provides the entire amount of required support for a determined length of time.
It is broadly understood that the exciting opportunity presented by this LSA project is to develop these significant levels of financial support outside of the operating budget of the ELS. It is the responsibility of the President of the Lutheran Schools of America to identify and secure sufficient levels of funding. Throughout this fund development effort, the direct and personal volunteer involvement of the President of the ELS, the LSA Board of Directors, leaders of the Synod on a national basis and others committed to the mission and vision of the Lutheran Schools of America will remain strategically critical to the ultimate success of the project.
The history of planning and support for LSA is a special note of encouragement to prospective supporters. Dedicated synodical efforts have secured funding in support of the administrative costs associated with the first two years of LSA administration. In addition, there has been broad approval and acceptance of a synod-wide fund drive to take place between 2006-2008 that projects to gather a million dollars in support of LSA.
The mission is clear. The vision is motivating and inspiring. The level of financial support required is deeply meaningful as it focuses on the life of each student enrolled within a Christian school of the LSA.
